This year Scouts and Scouters from every troop attended. Russell Griffith, Carson's cousin, spoke on his experience training to be a nuclear technician at the Navy Academy at Annapolis. He also answered many questions on renewable energy, the field in which he works. Many thanks to the Carters for their great work organizing the dinner!.

Section W3S Conclave 2013 April 26-28th 2013, Cutter Scout Reservation The Conclave is coming up quickly, and registration is open! You can get early-bird pricing if you sign up now by going the Conclave Registration site. A Conclave is a gathering of arrowmen that is organized and planned each year by the section. At a typical Conclave you will be able to learn a variety of new things in the training sessions that are offered. You can meet arrowmen from other lodges and trade patches. Lodges battle against each other in competitions, some of which you won't find anywhere else. Conclave is also where section officers are elected. You may even get to meet a national officer of the OA. Three things that every conclave has are lots of spirit, fellowship, and fun. What will I find at the W3S Conclave? How much does it cost? Spring Ordeal and PoppiFest Its that time of year again! The 10th Spring Ordeal and PoppiFest is coming up on March 15th-17th, at Camp Augusta. There will be a special car coming back Saturday night for the Troop 6 crowd so they can attend the Pancake Breakfast on Sunday morning. You should have already received an invitation to PoppiFest in your email, so please send it in soon. A group picture from the 2010 PoppiFest. The Centennial Rock As part of the Orders 100th Anniversary, a special commemorative fireplace (The Brotherhood Fireplace) is being constructed that will include rocks from each of the lodges. This fireplace will be on-site at the 2015 National OA Conference. |
Did you know.... The OA will celebrate it's 100th anniversary in 2015? The National Council has a huge Centennial program planned, and part of it involves the Centennial Crate. The crate was delivered to lodges at NOAC 2012, and the program incudes the creation of the Brotherhood Fireplace with stones from every lodge engraved with the lodge name, council and state. Another part of the program involves the creation of a Lodge History book. In this book, the lodge can create a history of their lodge for all to see and enjoy. Our lodge is planning to build this history using a photobook technique so multiple copies can be made and easily distributed. Another part of the crate involves filling the crate with wood for the Brotherhood bonfire at the 2015 NOAC, and the slide-on lid of the crate as a canvas to present the lodge totem in a standard format for all lodges. Do you want to be part of the Centennial Program? If so, talk to Evans or Kevin about helping out! BTW, NOAC 2015 will be a huge event that should not be missed! Great Pictures.... Deborah and Jim... Bill and Pat at their best... |
